Wahlburgers - Cottage Grove

This place just keeps getting worse and worse. Our last time coming here. Arrived Saturday morning placed our order, was told it would be a little wait for our food because of a function going on. After waiting 45 minutes and seeing that not one table had received their orders we decided that enough was enough. We were offered a cinnamon roll for our wait, but guess what? That too never arrived. We could see what was going on in the kitchen because of their short circuit TV cameras, we laughed watching the cooks running around like a 3 ring circus ????, and getting nothing out to the tables, and it wasn 't that busy. The only nice thing out of the whole ordeal was a visit from Santa!! Yes Santa was there. He asked if I had been good this year, I said not really !! He said, thanks for telling me, you saved me a trip!!????????????

We love coming to Wahlburgers for dinner as a lower cost meal. Kids love the Mac n cheese and mini burgers and of course tater tots. I love the OFD every time and that tomato jam adds the perfect flavor to make it an amazing burger. My hubby is GF and gets his OFD wrapped in lettuce. Also got here before 6 and had half off apps. Bbq wings were big and meaty with home made blue cheese. Yum! Wait staff is helpful getting us boxes and informing of events. Bingo on Wednesday and live music on fridays. We have high standards on unique food in Cottage Grove and this is quality and good for our family of 5.

Staff was extremely nice! Nothing at all against them. The reason for the three stars is the price vs what you get. I got the feeling that they were trying to be a nicer sit down type of restaurant with prices that match. It's really not, one because you order your food and then go sit down, Two the quality of the food for the price does not add up. I paid about $17 before tip for a burger and fries. Now don't get me wrong the food was pretty good for a restaurant attached to a grocery store. If the food had cost me like $10 to $12 this would probably be a 5 star review. TLDR: food is good but overpriced

Service has fallen after Covid, tough manning it so you order at front desk. Not the fault of current employees. For what it is is far over priced. One adult entree averages $21 after tax and tip. Kids meals are decent for $5.99 The problem with this places is you have to compare it to similar price points and food.... junction 70 is cheaper, with table-side service (you do not have a waitress/waiter). The food at junction/tamarack taproom/every bar grill in st paul park is far better. This place never recovered from Covid unfortunately it's sinking hard. Avoid it. Better value at a fast food restaurant.

Always the best food, deals and great service and over the top events. So many reasons to keep going back. Super fast service also.
