The Craven Arms - Cotswold

We visited this restaurant in 2020, shortly after lockdown restrictions were lifted, and were welcomed back with open arms. The atmosphere was just as we remembered, cozy and inviting. The variety of beers on tap was impressive and the staff were extremely friendly. We sat in the lovely garden and soaked up the sunshine. Although we didn't eat at the restaurant, the dishes around us looked delicious. A hidden gem of a place.

Just returned from our first Sunday roast at The Craven Arms and it definitely won't be our last! Our group of nine (including 2 children) were well taken care of and had a large table to ourselves. The atmosphere was relaxed, with well-behaved children and two friendly Rhodesian Ridgebacks also in the pub. We all agreed that it was the best pub roast we had enjoyed in a long time. The meat (a mix of syrup beef and pork belly) was cooked perfectly and served in generous portions. The bratkartoffels were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the vegetables, especially the red cabbage and cauliflower cheese, were all delicious. Despite feeling full, most of us found room for dessert. The sticky toffee pudding and lemon cheesecake were popular choices, but there was also a simple option of ice cream available. The pub had a good selection of beer and wine, and we were happy to leave a 10% tip for the excellent service and overall experience. We will definitely be returning to The Craven Arms in the future!

The breakfast offered a variety of options and was served with a friendly smile. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, making us feel right at home. We can't wait to visit again. The location is near the Settle to Carlisle train, which made for a lovely day trip. We also visited the Courtyard Dairy for some amazing cheeses, just a short 5-minute drive away. There are plenty of beautiful walks in the area and Settle has some charming shops, with a market day on Tuesdays.

Eating was fantastic, the service was great. I had a roasted bark meal that was perfectly cooked, and lemon cheese cake dessert. I would definitely recommend, very satisfied with my visit, will soon be back

Went to the craven arms on Sunday for Mother’s Day with my family. The food was amazing, great quality ingredients, cooked to perfection. Service was just as good as the food, friendly and helpful waiting staff. Would definitely go again and would recommend to others
