I have always loved Jans and have been a regular at the Huntington Beach location for as long as I can remember. However, since moving to Costa Mesa, I've found that the food here is completely different from what I enjoyed at HB. I'm not sure what the ingredient differences are, but it just doesn’t taste the same. The Broccoli Cheddar soup, which is my favorite, has a strange bleach-like aftertaste. The Tuna sandwich lacks flavor, and the chicken soup is equally disappointing. It's such a letdown.
The $8 bagel came with only a thin layer of cream cheese, which is really what makes a bagel enjoyable. I understand inflation, but if you're going to charge higher prices, you need to deliver quality. We can no longer dismiss poor experiences here and there, as they feel like a significant loss nowadays. Here’s a message for anyone reading this: while I recognize the realities of inflation, let’s remember the phrase, "you get what you pay for." That principle applies in both directions—when we pay a premium, we should expect to receive something worthy of that price.
Love Jan’s. From great smoothies to great sandwiches, this is a great spot.
I really like this place. There’s many healthy options to choose from and everything tastes great and fresh. I always feel light yet fully satisfied after a meal here. The protein shakes are so tasty. I love their salads and that you can customize the entrees. There are some indoor dining tables and bar stool seating.
