U Passa Tempu - Corte

I was disappointed by this restaurant because I had read great reviews of its food and lodging. It was close to my hotel and at a peaceful slope in a street leading up to the historic center so I figured I'd give it a try. Service was not attentive and the food wasn't anything I can recommend. The restaurants further down the slope of the street (under this restaurant) seemed to be doing a better business. Perhaps try one of those.

Very good service. I sampled the set 18€ Corse menu which is a lot of food. Delicious herbe tarte, brocciu cannelloni (more like a lasagna to Americans), and the Corsican fiadone-cheesecake. Don’t order unless you’re very hungry or are sharing. I shared the tart and the dessert with my husband and was still quite full. He tried the wild boar pasta and liked it.

We stumbled upon this place on a rainy Wednesday evening. We chose the €18 menu and had simple homely tasty food which we really enjoyed served by a very sweet waitress . Terrific value for the price. The friendly patron even threw in a free digestif.

Located up the small hill from the water fountain on the Main Street, you pass a number of other restaurants all ordering similar fare. We were happy with our simple cheese omelette for lunch. Served with salad and bread, it hit the spot!

Pendant les journées les plus chaudes de juin, nous avons choisi la salle plutôt que les terrasses en plein soleil. Une salle en forme de cave voûtée, toute en pierre donne un cachet particulier au resto. La salade (fraîcheur) était très copieuse, rafraîchissante (avec ses morceaux de fruits), garnie de saumon fumé, viande fumée, feta, ... pour un prix très raisonnable. Service sympa.
