An absolute must if you are in the Illawarra area. A charming mother and daughter who operate what is simply an outstanding restaurant in terms of both food and service.
I booked into Table 426 for an anniversary dinner having heard that it was pretty good with a hatted status. It is a little out of the way from the main eat streets of Wollongong and even Fairy Meadow and easily driven past if you dont keep a keen eye out for it. parking on the street is difficult but there is limited parking up a drive way alongside the restaurant which is a little tricky to locate the entrance to. We had the menu which gave you a limited choice of entree, mains and dessert. Overall it was very good. The food was well presented and well prepared with the goat dish having the goat lovers in raptures. it is a little on the pricey side but for a special occasion well worth it.
We had an early dinner here last Saturday. The food was delicious and well presented. The staff is polite, and well-trained in hospitality. The atmosphere is nice with a (live) performance on the grand piano during dinner.(We had a little chuckle at the apple sauce with our pork: 3 tiny dots on either side of the two pork pieces. Everything was spaced very nicely - we did not have long to wait between courses, and we were presented with a delicious spinach and cheese croquette once we ordered - compliments of the Chef. My husband could try a generous sample of two beers, before choosing the final one. The dessert (we shared it) was a pièce de résistance: Canneloni, sorbet and passionfruit curds - delicious. And my Jamaican coffee topped it all of very nicely.
This suburban restaurant located in Corrimal is an absolute must for visitors to Wollongong and locals who want to experience:*delicious food*attentive service*relaxed and comfortable surroundings*diverse food choices*value for moneyWe were fortunate enough to try Table 426 after reading a review in our local paper. Our expectations were exceeded and after trying many different dining establishments from Scarborough to Wollongong (since moving here from Melbourne 2 years ago) this one ticked all the boxes. We were so delighted with our meals that we made a booking to take friends there next week!As well, the Chef was very receptive to meeting the challenges of my FODMAP diet.
