The cafe was small ,comfortable, food was good could be less $$$ for smaller budgets but was worth it
My friends and I had lunch at Altitude 1148 and found the food very tasty. The menu does have a lot of Indian inspired dishes but also has a variety of seafood as well. Very enjoyable dining with views overlooking the escarpment and ocean
Having already had an awful meal in the Indian restaurant, this time we decided to just have a quick lunch in their cafe. The young wait staff were good, they were welcoming and cheerful. Even though it was 2.30pm and they close at 3pm, it was no problem to have lunch. My husband had the salt and pepper squid with salad which he said was good, and I had the tempura prawns with chips and salad, which again was quite nice. they only thing I would say is that for a dish which was just short of $20, three prawns was a bit stingy. of course, the view is fantastic. so, give the restaurant a miss and have a quick cafe lunch instead.
As a destination its a waste of time ,but unfortunately tourist passing by will get caught . There's million dollar views of the Illawarra coast line and the ocean , the staff quite friendly and somewhat efficient but this isn't enough to make up for the over priced and poorly prepared food food ,a childs serve was larger in portion than an adult order of salt and pepper squid which consisted of approximately 8 small pieces of squid and some mixed salad leaves which was listed as a speciality . By all means stop visit the tourist information centre and grab a coffee and enjoy the view but save your money .
