We drove over from Rockport with high expectations because of it’s number #2 ranking.. Everything started fine , my wife ordered the shrimp and crab queso and I ordered the fried fish with 4 fried shrimp. I asked for all tartare sauce. My food arrived first. I tasted the fish and it seemed to somewhat raw. I took a second bite and same result. I sent it back Since I got red sauce. I also asked her for tartar sauce. My wife”s queso arrive barely warm resembling soup. The queso would. not stay on the chip because it was so runny . My second order of fish arrived and was cooked more. The waitress brought me two ranch dressings instead of tarter. The shrimp was tasty so not all was bad. I not sure how it got such a high ranking but I won” t be recommending this establishment.
For real that plate is $20????We order seven main courses, two appetizers and some drinks btw cocktails, beer and soda and for sure I can’t say that at least one of those was delicious ?Hostess was bad tempered, rude employees, extremely slow service… perfect place to waist money in Padre Island. Don’t come!! I’m sure there are better places to eat…
Came on a Sunday- the patio was cool even in the late afternoon and we were treated to live music while we ate. The fried oysters and seared Ahi were melt in your mouth delicious. The crab and shrimp queso is good, but pretty mild- I would recommend getting extra pico di gallo. Our server, Frank, was friendly and accommodating. Had a great time and enjoyed our food!
This hole-in-the-wall is a must visit! The food was fantastic and the beers were the cheapest I’ve seen in town. The fried fish sandwich was undoubtedly the best I’ve had.The service isn’t very fast and we did have to wait about 20 minutes to be seated (mind you, on the Fourth of July), but I assure you it is worth it!
