Poke 123 - Coronado

I was visiting Coronado while residing in Orange County, and as a regular poke enthusiast, I can confidently say this place is among the best I've experienced. They offer an impressive variety of proteins and toppings—definitely the most extensive selection I’ve seen in a long time. There are some truly unique options as well. I deducted one star due to the pricing; a large bowl and a soda set me back $20. While everything on the island tends to be expensive, this was the priciest poke bowl I've ever had at a quick-service spot. Additionally, they provide 4 scoops of protein instead of the 5 that many other places offer for a similar bowl size. Despite the cost, I plan to return several more times during my trip.

Today, I had a tofu shell that was absolutely delicious! I really appreciate how vegan-friendly the place is, especially considering it's a non-vegan restaurant. Everything was incredibly fresh, and it was a treat to enjoy a vegan mayo-based sauce. The only drawback I noticed was that the staff didn't seem very familiar with veganism, but the menu was quite straightforward, and the signs were helpful. To be fair, I wasn't well-informed myself, so they might have known more than it appeared. If you're not vegan, I definitely recommend giving this place a try!

This restaurant offers a fantastic array of delicious vegan-friendly options! Start with the organic tofu and choose from their amazing sauces – all vegan-friendly, including the mayo-based ones! Feel free to get creative with the toppings! We tried a rice noodle shell with spicy vegan mayo and zesty citrus sauce, as well as a mixed green shell topped with golden nebel and sesame shoyu sauce. We added a fresh salad of seaweed, cucumbers, mango, a veggie mix, beets, ginger, wasabi, cilantro, furikake, and macadamia nuts. Everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful!
