The menu mainly featured fish dishes as the name suggests, with only one meat option and a curry. The halloumi I had was delicious and well-presented, but on the pricey side. The appetizers and desserts were also on the expensive side, with most items close to double digits. Our waiter was friendly and polite, though not dressed as expected. The real issue here is the exorbitant prices of the drinks, which were even higher than those at the nearby hotel. This is unacceptable. In comparison, I may not return for a new visit.
If they didn't consider cost, we would definitely be very pleased with the overall experience. The service was nice and the restaurant was extremely clean.
The meal was excellent, with all dishes tasting delicious and fresh. The restaurant has a perfect location with views overlooking the harbor. The martinis were also amazing and highly recommended. The staff were very friendly.
A wonderful jubilee in our happy place after long years we returned for a break after hfg and we were not disappointed. eating was amazing and nothing was too much annoyed for aaron and his new team. we stayed for nights in...our favourite room with views of the harbour and ate every evening in the restaurant (the reason why we are miles driving for a special tasty bite for our high-time jubilee we have spoiled in aarons cursor menu. Oh wow! We made it! lobster bisque with quid fish finger prawn raviolo, bark meat brisket with shiny hut cake, smoked crab with homemade poppadomen, just some of the absolute joys we were treated and, believe us, the descriptions in no wise do the eating, the happy, the presentations, justity.
It has been year since we visited Arron Janes restaurant and the fact we are still talking about the meal, I think speaks to the quality of food this brilliant chef is producing. We are big foodies and have recommended this restaurant above all...to everyone we can. This is my first online review and I don’t know how I could possibly write justice to how superb his food is. Based in a very simplistic setting, overlooking a bay you might just expect fresh fish, but Arron Janes has created a wonderful complexity to his dishes which in my eyes shines above other in the area such as Rick Stein’s Padstow and the Scarlett Hotel Restaurant just a few to mention. Arron Janes has managed to master a beautiful balance of flavours and textures. He not only scores for his main courses but please do arrive hungry to his restaurant as his starters, mains and deserts are all of exceptional quality. I only wish Arron Janes wasn’t so far from London (I hope one day we will see a place of his in the city), but I hope to visit Cornwall again soon and this restaurant will be the bookends to our trip.
