This is a hidden gem. the food we had and vegetarian and vegan thali was excellent. they also make curries with meat. the chefs have passion, skill and talent. we ate to lunch with the chefs their purchase from seasoned indies and their desire to make Indian home cooking made this a real leak.
I visited here on Friday with my family. We were a party of 10, and the staff at Daaku were more than happy to accommodate us. We arrived and were greeted by a very friendly lady (I think the owner? and shown to a table upstairs. The decor was bright and colourful, and there was a lovely atmosphere. The menu is fairly small but has a choice of veggie and meat options, which change weekly. We ordered a variety of dishes including the chicken, beef and paneer curries, the tarka daal, the kulcha bread and the pilau rice with crispy onions. The staff serving were very helpful, friendly and attentive I absolutely cannot fault the service we had. Portions were very generous and food arrived hot and fresh. We all enjoyed our meals, although one of our party found the beef in his curry to be a little fatty for his tastes. We followed with a selection of desserts which were also good. We realised at the end of our meal that it was cash only, but thankfully were able to pay via bank transfer. I would definitely recommend Daaku to others the staff are simply wonderful, kind and humble people and the food is of a high standard.
We had waited patiently to sit down and enjoy a meal in which what was once only a take-off facility, a take-off that everyone overtakes. we were not disappointed. they have a small menu from a very good ground, they want their food to stand out and not be representative for most other curry houses everywhere. the owners know how to create large tasting food and thus give the attention to the few items, instead of producing the average taste of over 40 or 50 dishes. they change the menu weekly, so they know that everyone will be unique, put their focus on ensuring that the few elements are perfectly made. we have decided to share a chicken and lamb dish with a rice, spicy brot and what has proven to be a surprise mango chutney. every product we received came filled with taste, each crumbled and flavored was there to taste, that sounds strange, but with most curries they simply have a dress of taste and heat here the balance was perfect and the taste clean and fresh, also to the rice, which she literally could take out any chalk, it was that well boiled, every chalk was again we like a glass or two wein with our meal and we were surprised that they do not charge for a decent bottle the earth. so from the warm and friendly welcome, the interesting personal, the delight for the owners venture, which showed eating and wine, and even to the point of payment, this is a 5-star restaurant that should be on their list as a resident or visitor of falmouth. we will come back as Sit-Down customers (already booked when for august when we visit friends) and now go out of our way to venture into the city to take a takeaway from them. thanks for a great experience.
Delicious! fresh and tasteful! if you like Indian food, you just have to try Daaku. they will not be disappointed! Many thanks for some of the most delicious Indian food I ever had and that was just from the vegan menu.
