Amarre Casual Food Drinks - Córdoba

Honestly the best paella we have ever had in Spain and filled with seafood and thick of rice . The wait was very long but worth it when the food came out . The seafood was fresh and steaming hot and we ate it in sub 10 minutes and it was beautiful.

We had the most amazing strawberry and goats cheese salad at Amarre. We are not normally salad people but this one had us sold. It is easily in our top 5 favourite foods in Spain so far. I also had the garlic and chilli prawns, which were delicious. The prawns did not come with sides, which is typical in Spain but the salad did the job. The server was quick and friendly and spoke good English. The food also came out quickly. They buy the seafood fresh so some items were not available on that day. Seating is mostly outside but we went fairly early in the evening so there weren't too many smokers.

It's difficult to know where to begin with this disaster of a restaurant. Perhaps with the waiter deliberately ignoring us for about fifteen minutes. Perhaps the long delay in taking our order. Perhaps the hour it took to prepare two skewers of prawns and pork the special of the day. We would have walked but we had a train to catch and having wasted the better part of an hour without food it was too late to go elsewhere and order again. All in all it was an hour and a half before our meal was served just as we were about to leave. An apology? Amarre don't do apologies. When I went inside to pay couldn't wait for the bill. the waiter and chef were stonyfaced and sullen. I felt so, so guilty for having upset their day by asking for food and drink within a reasonable time frame. Not. Food was overpriced at Euro 14.50 for the skewers and a few french fries and mini green peppers and at Euro 3.00 they serve the most expensive (and unremarkable) Rueda we had during our time in Andalucia. Lads, give it up. You don't know the first thing about running a restaurant. It will only cause you grief and you'll deserve it.

Buen vino, excelente cocina, servicio impecable. y todo esto se complementa con una ubicación perfecta y un afecto cordial! ¡Recuerdo el hechizo!
