Neptune Chinese Kitchen - Coquitlam

Our table of 11 dined here on a Sunday night recently. We ordered a set menu for 10 persons. There are different menu options - lunch, dim sum, ala carte and set menus for 2 to 10 people, and many dishes with lobster to order from.The better tasting dishes on the set menu were Empress Chicken, Braised Enoki Mushroom with Beancurd in Taiwanese Style, Steamed Fish, Celery and Snow pea, Yang Chow Fried Rice with Prawns. The other dishes such as the Cold Plate appetizer, fish maw soup and fried crab dish were of average quality. Service was okay - tea and water were refilled regularly, however I thought our plates should have been replaced earlier between dishes, rather than later. Overall the serving portions were good and we came home with leftovers despite having 11 persons at the table.

Eleven of us went for a family dinner and were so disappointed. The food was below average. Good - chicken with green onion & ginger hot pot; fried rice with seafood (Hokkien style)Poor - crab with green onion and ginger. Flavor was average and the quality of the crab was below average. Diced Beef with lettuce wrap. The lettuce was sent to our table wet and not well served in easy to use serving portions. Bean curd was oily. Only 4 tables yet the service was slow. No one came to ask to change our plates, tea served in plastic cups. Servers were pleasant but not attentive. Decor was tacky. I won't come back.

We attended a concert at the casino, and thought we'd dine near the casino. The Neptune was great; fast, friendly service and the food was terrific. We had the hot and sour soup, shanghi noidle, chill ribs and BBQ pork. Each dish was delicious- we also had a lot left over, which we took home. The entire meal was $79, very reasonable.

Couldn't believe the dinner ware was melamine and a person could find better cutlery at a Thrift Store. The waitress took over a half an hour to bring us our beverages (and they charge for a piece of lemon in a glass of water!!!). Food was just average and for the money should have been much better. Would not go back.

The restaurant is clean and quiet, the table setting is spacious. The food is good and the price is reasonable. Good for comfortable dinner for small groups.
