Kunjip Korean - Coquitlam

On April 18, 2022, I was disappointed to discover that the restaurant is permanently closed as it has been sold. I visited a few weeks ago and was informed by the server that they would be closing down. The food was quite good! It will be interesting to see what will happen to this location. The server mentioned that it will be transformed into a club-like setting with more focus on serving drinks.

We came here to try out Kunjip as we were in the neighbourhood. R got a seafood tofu soup and found that the prawns were quite off, almost as if they were frozen too long or maybe over cooked or just not very fresh?? No real complaints about the stone bowl but nothing spectacular either. With the abundance of Korean restaurants in Coquitlam, will likely decide to pass on this one.

The restaurant is extremely clean, and as a Korean person, I can tell that they put a lot of care into their food. It is a relatively new establishment. Some people may complain about the wait, but it is important to understand that Korean cuisine requires a lot of effort. All of their side dishes are fresh, clean, and tasty. Unlike many Korean restaurants that tend to over-season their food, this place does not. I highly recommend dining here if you are looking for authentic Korean cuisine.

I've been looking for a good Korean restaurant for a long time and I finally found it.We ordered pork bone soup and sulungtang. Both were flavourful and had quality very similar to what you would get in Korea. The beef in sulungtang was tender and juicy (you don't often get that quality in other restaurants). The pork bone soup had lots of meats and I loved the cabbage.Each dish was also affordably priced.I would confidently share that the dishes we had were better than Sura or any other restaurants in Vancouver entirely.I hope to go back and try more of their delicious offerings!

The food at this restaurant is incredibly delicious, but it is quite expensive. Unfortunately, this seems to be a common issue with Korean restaurants. For the same price, you could get twice as much Chinese food. I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars. I would give it a higher rating if the prices were more reasonable.
