Copper Red Hots - Copper Mountain

I’ve dined here several times over the past year, and I appreciate that the food is prepared fresh while you wait. Their dishes are delicious, which keeps me coming back, and I particularly enjoy their onion rings when they are available. While the prices aren't the cheapest, they are reasonable considering the location in a ski resort. Unfortunately, during my visit yesterday, the restaurant was understaffed, with only one employee managing everything. This is why I’ve given a lower rating. They definitely need more hands on deck to manage orders and keep the counters and tables clean. In the winter, when the restaurant is busier, I’ve noticed issues with misplaced orders and items being given to the wrong customers. They also seem to run out of certain products and don’t restock them in a timely manner. Additionally, the indoor seating is starting to show wear and tear and could use an update.

I share the sentiments of many other reviewers—this place offers excellent prices for a quick meal right by the slopes. However, I wouldn’t recommend the hot dogs; I’d suggest skipping those altogether and opting for the mac 'n cheese instead. During my two visits, I tried the buffalo chicken and the Mediterranean dishes, and both were quite good. The best part was being able to enjoy my meal without having to squeeze into a cramped cafeteria-style lodge. I would definitely return, but it’s wise to keep your expectations reasonable.

I visited this restaurant twice in one week during spring break at Copper, and I have to say, the mac and cheese is fantastic with some really unique options. However, the service can be quite slow, especially when there are more than two people ahead of you in line since there's only one person cooking. So, it's best to know exactly what you want when it's your turn. Changing your mind can really delay the process. I enjoyed the lobster mac, as well as the chili and pretzel. I would definitely return—just hoping to find no one in line!

One of my instructors had high praise for the mac and cheese at this place. Apparently, it’s also one of the most budget-friendly dining options in Copper Village. We ordered a generous portion of bacon cheeseburger mac and cheese for under $7, and it was absolutely delicious!

The mac and cheese at this place is amazing! And that hot dog topped with nacho cheese and bacon? Who could resist that?
