However, during my visit yesterday evening, some of us ordered the special of the evening, coral trout. Unfortunately, I do not believe that the fish we were served was actually coral trout, or it may have been frozen for too long. It lacked taste and resembled a species of fish commonly found in frozen food. On a positive note, the risotto that accompanied the fish was delicious and made up for the lackluster main dish. In this particular instance, I believe we simply made the wrong choice and should stick to the traditional menu items. The pizza we had as an appetizer was tasty, and other dishes ordered at the table seemed to be of high quality.
We arrived on Saturday night before Valentine's Day in hopes of getting a table at the restaurant. It was busy and we had a short wait before being seated at a small table. The service was great and we enjoyed a refreshing pink caprioska cocktail and a delicious martini. The wine list was extensive with a wide variety and the sommelier was attentive. We tried the Aranchini and found them creamy. The boneless duck dish with circus reduction underneath was incredible, with perfectly moist duck and crispy skin. Our server Rachel was excellent, providing attentive service. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
My experience at this newly opened restaurant on Marine Parade in Coolangatta was mostly positive. The duck croquettes with relish were a highlight, absolutely delicious. The scallops were a bit pricey but cooked perfectly in a champagne sauce. The pizza was a bit disappointing as it wasn't crisp and the toppings were sparse, but the price was fair. The pappardelle with Carbonara sauce was an unusual combination but surprisingly tasty. The wine list was extensive but the small wine glasses were a letdown. The service was efficient, although it may have been due to the restaurant being new.
This modern Italian restaurant is located at the harbour in the shopping center beach. we were really impressed by the excellent customer service and amazing eating. we were done with men and three different, but all were excellent. the location is...big, the staff is really friendly and helpful and the place has just a great mood about it. the meals are really good and it is one of the only places where we actually wanted to type. for really good eating they have to pay a little more. do not look at the evaluation that says overpriced. this food has its worth and it is delicious and yes different price than fish and chips. it is a great value for coolangatta some classics that we will come back.
I read the rave revues of this restaurant with disbelief. The venue is tired, zero atmosphere, with seating that is either too low or too high when sitting at the internal tables. Although our waitress at our lunchtime sitting was very attentive (it was quiet),...the food was abominable. The steak was presented as if broiled it was grey in colour, tough and tasteless. The meatballs were like golf balls, the sauce salty and dominating. The pasta was like rubber, lacking flavour, and the gnocchi was like something you'd get from a fast food joint. Actually, a meal from a fast food joint would have been preferable. To top it off, this top class restaurant didn't take American Express. We went to this restaurant because we had heard the food was good, bottom line it isn't. If you want a fine dining experience, walk down the street to Bellakai. You won't be disappointed in the food there.
