Lovely atmosphere and great service too! Would definitely recommend! My only suggestion is, as an Indian afternoon tea I was disappointed that they didn’t serve real masala chai we hope the next time we visit we can have properly brewed desi masala chai! This would make the afternoon tea perfect! Service: Dine in Meal type: Other Price per person: £30–40 Recommended dishes: Afternoon Tea
This restaurant is a hidden gem with amazing food, excellent service, and a beautiful setting. The price per person ranges from £40 to £50. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a rating of 5 out of 5.
Tried to book afternoon tea here twice. Spoke to an extremely unhelpful and arrogant manager who answered my questions with a questions! Haven't tried this place and wouldn't want to after that : Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
I have to say I was very surprised how bad my experience was with the Spice Merchant was. It started very badly with the food taking two hours to be delivered. This was after several calls over that period where we were told that the food was on its way and should be with us in five minutes. That was a bad start but the food was just as bad. The only saving grace were the starters of chicken lamb lollipops which were tasty. The main courses were all very disappointing, lacking spice and flavour. They were also swimming in oil. The breads were also flavourless. I don’t like to give reviews like this but in this case it is well deserved especially as it was extremely expensive. £150 for five people. For that kind of money it should have been allot better. Worst curry I have had I recent memory! Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40
We went out for dinner and wanted to have some curry, so we decided to come here. The setting was lovely and quaint in the charming village of Cookham. There were heart decorations on the table, the staff was attentive, and the ambiance was good. The food was fantastic, and I highly recommend trying the Tandoori lamb chops. They were marinated with subtle spices, and the succulent meat just fell off the bone. The price reflected the good quality of the food. We will definitely return to this restaurant.
