Shane's Rib Shack - Conyers

The barbecue was unpleasant, and the odor inside the restaurant is quite strong!

My experience today was quite disappointing. First, they replaced the soft cushioned chairs with low hardwood booths, which are uncomfortable and difficult to get out of, especially if you have knee issues. The prices have increased significantly, while the quality has declined. For $15, I received a small order of fries, a tiny cole slaw, and two small chicken tenders. I honestly thought I had been given a child's meal, but it turns out, that's just the portion size now. My husband ordered a BBQ sandwich with slaw, and that was also $15, with no sides. Additionally, a small cup of cobbler costs $4. In total, we spent $45 (including tax) for such small servings. I won’t be coming back here again, even though I’ve been a long-time customer.

The restaurant is clean and spacious! I ordered takeout, and the wait time was quite short. The customer service was friendly. We tried the chicken plate, the shack sampler, and added sides of fried okra, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, and peach cobbler. The beans were delicious and a hit with our non-meat eaters as well! The chicken was tender, and the pulled pork got rave reviews. However, the pork ribs were rated 3 out of 5 because the membrane was left on the back. Despite that, we enjoyed everything. I would give this location a perfect 10 out of 10 considering everything!

Food here was good, and the customer service was great! We ordered the Shack sampler, chicken tender plate, and the smoked wings (hot and lemon pepper flavor)

I went to check out the hype surrounding the restaurant, but maybe I picked a bad day to visit because the food was just average. The Buffalo fries were definitely the highlight, much better than the rest of the dishes. I also ordered the sampler platter, and I recommend asking for extra Buffalo sauce to go with it.
