Przekaż informację zwrotnąWe enjoyed the pub's delicious food options, including smaller portions for lighter appetites and meals for those with bigger appetites. During our lunch visit, we opted for the two-course meal for £15, with the option for a three-course meal for £20 also available. We both started with the incredible carrot, honey, and thyme soup. For our main courses, I chose the Pork and Wild Boar hotdog while my partner had the fish and chips. The meals were beautifully presented, served hot, and generously portioned. The atmosphere, setting, and service were all fantastic. We definitely plan on returning in the future.
This restaurant is a hidden gem! My family and I visited Castle View for my wife's 50th birthday on Sunday. The pub is cozy with a warm fire, and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. I had the lamb roast, which was delicious and filling, while my wife enjoyed the beef. The rest of the family also loved their meals. We all had tasty desserts, and the staff even brought out a cake and sang happy birthday. Overall, it was a great afternoon and we will definitely return when we are in the area again.
The Sunday roast beef dinner was extremely disappointing. The beef was tough and fatty, not suitable for eating. This wasn't just the case for my plate, but for all four plates at our table. It's no wonder they tried to hide it under the Yorkshire pudding - it was that bad.
Very disappointing. I had the chicken Sunday lunch at £17 (one course). The smallest piece of chicken on a squashed blob of mashed potato. The veg were also squashed as if they had been stacked on top of each other and almost grey they had been sitting so long, and a very small dish between two of us. My partner had the beef(£18) which was better but still not fresh. The two waiting staff were so nice but this didn't make up for a poor meal. Please don't advertise that you serve Sunday meals until 7pm if they've been sitting all day. We were there between 3 30,so not the end of the day. Sorry, but you need to try harder.
As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted with a smile by Chris who was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I had the fish and chips with minted mushy peas and tartare sauce, it was so tasty and just perfect; not greasy or anything which is what a lot of places get wrong. The only problem was that I couldn’t finish it all! Thank you to James in the kitchen! Such a lovely pub overall and really relaxed atmosphere with a little fire going too. Will be returning whenever I’m next in the area on my travels again!
