My review is about the Bucharest branch of Gold Baklava. Located on Nerva Traian street, it offers the best candy in the city. The prices are very good and the cakes are absolutely delicious. Try Hurem cake with spinach and cream for only 4 Lei a piece: it is to die for! Or Revani for the same price - the bread cake with sweet syrup. The baklava has not yet tasted, but the price is more than decent: 50-60 lei a kilo; they look delicious. The salty cheesecakes are also amazing. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. I recommend this shop, if at all in Bucharest or Constanta.
At first I had the chance to try "Gold baklava" at TIAD where they provided their wonderful products for dessert. And it was so good that I jumped in the car this morning and went to her store. The location is not easy to find, quite small, but clean and cozy. I chose take-off option. You have a wide selection of baklava and other Turkish delights, and the staff is friendly and prompt. Prices are moderate, but if you compare with what you get, it is actually cheap. It was good to find out that they also have a store in Bucharest, so I don't have to drive 200 km regularly to get this wonderful taste (even if it were the only option). Surely I would put them in Top 3 baklava in Romania. Very recommended, give it a try and you will not regret!
It has various types of baklava (lots of them) and it is very good and tasty, one of the best you can find in Constanta. A bit pricey but worth it and it is the authentic baklava taste. The place is located in the Constanta Trains Station area, a bit hidden but the have a big light sign so you can find them. It's only to go desserts, you cannot eat here.
Environment: clean, there's only one table with 4 chairs if you want to eat in, assuming the size of the place it's mainly serving takeouts. There's an open window to the kitchen where you can see the making of the desserts.Staff: friendlyPayment: I paid cash, not sure if they take cards (I didn't see a card machine there either)Location: about 5 minutes walk from Gara (you have to take the underpass to go to the other side if the road)Price: Cheap to moderate (they count by gram)Food: There's various kind of Turkish dessert; baklava, kadaif, fistic roll and many other I can't name. These are all made fresh almost daily. There's Turkish soft drinks and beverages as well as ice cream sold there. My plate had 8 pieces of various kind of desserts and I paid 11 RON for it.I ate only 4 pieces and left with the impression of being sugar drunk. Taste wise = amazing! I love the fistic roll (pistachio roll; green colored).Such a hidden gem for foodie! P/S: My Turkish friends told me that the restaurant sourced other baklava places in town.Do check out an image I post for this place to get the idea of the heavenly dessert.
