The Whistle Stop Cafe - Conroe

Always good! Anytime I'm going north from Houston towards Dallas I like to stop here for breakfast. Just had the conductor plate. Pancakes are super good! Staff was friendly. Coffee fresh. Prices reasonable. I'd say for sure worth a stop if you're in the area. Only thing of note is, for whatever reason, cell signal is pretty spotty right there. Not their fault, obviously, just something to note.

I've eaten here many times before, reason being it's a family owned local eatery. I love to support small businesses and local companies. The food has always been freshly prepared, good portions, and tasty. Today was a different story altogether. I ordered the baked potato with bbq meat and all of the fixings. Well the potato was cold. The waitress asked if I wanted her to microwave it? No, thank you, I'd like a freshly prepared potato please. Upon the waitresses return she handed me the potato. I immediately knew it was the same potato that I had eaten off of. I politely paid the check and took it to go. While in my vehicle I called the restaurant and asked for a manager. Ashley was placed on the phone. As I explained the issue to her, she interrupts me and says that she prepared my food and she personally put the potato in the warmer then she said microwave. I then said thank you for that information and got off the phone. I ended up eating at another location. This restaurant has lost a very loyal customer.

Really amazing food and service. It is like visiting your grandmother house for some really good home cooked food. The fried cucumbers should be for....never had such in my life, perfectly broken and crisp, they must use homemade pimples. Her chicken fried steak is another favorite. I'll say everything I've eaten here was good. The staff is always friendly.

This was my first time at The Whistle Stop Cafe. My mother had eaten there several times and suggested it. And it was really good. The interior is charming and pleasant. The staff was friendly and very helpful. And the food was delicious. I had a burger and it was just a little good burger. My nephews have a piece of cake for dessert and they just inhaled them. Overall everyone was satisfied with their meals. Will definitely go back. Very recommended.
