My sister and I had a lovely lunch after an emotional trip to celebrate our mums life.Sophie the manager was attentive,very caring and presented us with a lovely bouquet! Not many places would be so kind. The fish n chips were excellent our mums favourite.The staff were professional social distancing adhered to plenty of handgel.Well worth a visit.

Great food. Friendly service. Nice stop off and change from the usual busy Ambleside.

I visited a birthday dinner today with my son, and the meal was enjoyable. I had a burger with fries and a lovely coleslaw, while my son ordered chicken in a cream sauce with pasta. The only downside for both of us was that the dishes were heavily seasoned, which masked some of the original flavors. The hot chocolate was delicious, and my son mentioned that the beer was good as well. Thank you very much; we will definitely return!

My husband and I had a meal after a long day on foot. We sat outside and ordered chips and Penne alla Norma, which is a vegetarian dish. My husband really enjoyed his meal, as the chips were crispy and came with a delicious tartar sauce. However, my penne was overcooked and quite soggy, which was disappointing. The pasta was coated in a sauce with small pieces of eggplant and tomato, and it seemed to be made with olive oil and a few dollops of creamy ricotta cheese that melted beautifully with the arugula leaves. Despite the pasta mishap, the dish was tasty without being overwhelming. The portion size was perhaps too large for me, as I’m not a big eater, so I left a little uneaten, but that’s just my preference. The staff was polite, friendly, and very efficient. Overall, it was a lovely pub with a warm welcoming atmosphere, and I would definitely recommend it. It's great to see pubs returning to normalcy!
