Chateau De La Fleunie

Nice restaurant, quick service, attentive. Good quality products, distinct flavours. Only one small flat... it was so good, the assiettées remained insufficient!! to recommend.

The castle was no longer inhabited. ! Everything was quiet and abandoned. No. Visitors. No more open?

Beautiful setting, lovely old chateau. The restaurant was pretty, food was mixed. Lentils were exquisite, chicken dish had an unpleasant bbq flavored sauce. We had a disabled room in the new section. We were not impressed, as there was no bellman service and this is suppised to be star. About the room, we needed a disabled room, and it was like a low grade motel room. Floor was so slippery and I fell, not good for a disabled person. There is no ventilation, no window to open, just the door. No air conditioning or fan so even on a rainy night the room was too warm. The plumbing made a terrible noise with vibrating pipes three times in the middle of the night, and the room darkening curtains did little to block the bright light outside the door. The paint color and bathroom tiles were just plain ugly. As nice as the setting is, we won’t go back there. Sad because the staff were all very nice.

We we not staying in the hotel, we eat in the restaurant (on October The food was reasonable for the cost, but there were many more extras' than is the norm with French fixed price menus. However, the service was terrible and so impersonal; no aperitifs offered, an unengaged waiter and no ambiance or feeling of being wanted as a customer. A great indication of this is that despite the restaurant having just being my wife and I on our table, one other couple and a man eating alone the waiter asked when bringing each course which was for which of us. We eat quickly, didn't order any wine (that's a first and left.

Great location. Feels like stepping back in time. Needs a little more attention to detail to make it .
