K&w Cafeterias - Concord

Great service. Very kind and attentive staff. The food? Not so much. I haven't eaten at a K W Cafeteria in years because the one in Charlotte closed down. I was craving K W, which is also a fave of my husband's, so I set out on a drive for dinner and didn't tell my fam where we were going. Happy smiles when we got there, after a 40 minute drive. Spaghetti was so greasy from the obviously undrained beef that neither my husband or daughter could eat it. Cheese was hard on the Mac cheese so I could only eat half. It was also very greasy but I'm not sure why? My ultimate fave at a cafeteria, the chopped steak, was overcooked and somewhat hard also. Mashed potatoes and corn were decent. Egg custard pie was good on top but the crust was overcooked and hard. VERY disappointed in what was a $42 meal before tip, with a 40 minute drive. Unfortunately we won't be back and will just have to catch a K W when we're traveling some time.

I was so surprised today when we went to get what I get every time I eat at K&W! I always get the country style steak and gravy because it’s always so tender and good. Well today, I got a processed meat patty! The overall quality of the food has gone down so much!All of the casseroles and gravies had skins on them like they were sitting for hours!I feel bad for the staff and I’m sure it’s hurting them because when we got there at 3:30 in the afternoon, the place was dead! Usually it’s packed at this time on a Sunday! If it wasn’t for Alina, I would have asked for my money back. She gladly traded the patty-I only got one-for a few slices of roast beef. It wasn’t much better but I didn’t want to complain because she was trying so hard to make sure I was happy. They have new owners and you can definitely tell!

Don’t eat here. They have roaches crawling on the food. It’s disgusting and roaches cause diseases. I’m getting ahold of the Health Department tomorrow. There’s no way this place should still be open.

The nicest group of people I've ever met! They were super great to us our whole stay and they were laughing with us. Definitely take yalls family!

The food was delicious especially the fried okra. Just like mama use to cook. My family and I will return to this location. We really miss the one that closed in Pineville, NC.Good job to the management and staff keep up the good work.
