This is the first place. paradisiac appetizers between typical meats and truffles on frittatine and carpaccio and then grilled meat between the best ever eaten. the place is not so much from an aesthetic point of view but it falls into the true atmosphere of the province that well gets married with these authentic and exquisite flavors.
This was our sixth year staying at or around Communanza, and Pepino and La Roverino has always been a fixture. We ate their twice inor week in teh area. Pepino welcomed us as old friends, and advised us with the menu although neither of us speaks the other's language that well, he always get sover what is on offer, and we always have a lovely meal. A definiete return to for us
We stopped here this evening for dinner whilst we are staying just outside Comunanza, the staff were very friendly and we ate delicious antipasti of pecorino cheese, salami and bread followed by ravioli, one with meat ragu and one with butter and sage, pasta lovely and light and very tasty. Finished with dessert of panna cotta and creme brûlée. Good value, nice atmosphere.
We are visiting near Force and felt very lucky to find this amazing restaurant in the town of Comunanza. We had a multi-course meal w recommendations by the proprietor Giuseppe. Started w antipasto (awesome! , the local specialty stuffed olives, then a yummy lentil soup, followed by vegetables and lamb. All along w a Rosso Piceno, excellent house wine. Everything was very tasty and prepared perfectly. We will be sure to return!
I love everything about this place. We have been making an annual, sometimes biennial pilgrimage here every year for the past fifteen years, and have never enjoyed a less than perfect meal in a welcoming atmosphere.. Antipasti, primi, secondi (try the spezzatino or lamb cutlets cooked on the fire) The restaurant is nearly always full with a combination of local regulars and visitors from beyond Marche. The secret of its appeal lies in the attention to detail. The menus are changed daily with fresh ingredients chosen by head chef Stefano and proprietor, Pepino The service is unobtrusive, knowledgeable, friendly and extremely efficient. Beppe is the best maitre d'hotel I've ever met, amusing, full of anecdotes, attentive, very helpful in his suggestions of what to order on a particular day or evening, and, importantly, more knowledgeable than most about Italian wine. Make the effort and go.
