War Mouth - Columbia

The atmosphere at this restaurant is fantastic, and the classic southern food is absolutely delicious. We loved the hot sauce so much that we ended up buying a bottle to take home! Overall, I would give the food a rating of 4 out of 5.

I visited this restaurant for the Yesterday's tribute dinner, so maybe it's not fair to evaluate them solely on that, but they really impressed me. The food was outstanding, the drinks were fantastic, and the service was exceptional. The atmosphere is really cool and sets this restaurant apart in Columbia. I highly recommend coming here for both the experience and the delicious food. Parking is available to the left of the restaurant.

The atmosphere and service was great. However, the food needs major improvement. Fried pork belly was rubber and no seasoning. It was like gristle cut off of a pork chop and fried. We literally gagged trying to eat it. Needed to have fat renders to make edible. No pork bbq available for pork sliders so had to get pulled chicken which was layered so thin you could see the bread on the bottom of the roll and very little seasoning. The rolls were soggy from the juice of the slaw and pickle put on the side. I got a full 12 salad. The portion was that of a side salad. The highlight was the WM bacon and I got maybe 5 crumbles on there. Very Small portions for . The smoked chicken wings were decent. The fries were typical fries but missing salt. Paper straws are awful. They get soggy as you wait for your food. Unfortunately, I would recommend this place.

If you haven’t popped over for dinner at the War Mouth, do yourself a favor and GO! This place is all things “local neighborhood bar” with an eclectic feel. Our service was excellent and the drinks were especially tasty.Food: 5/5

The food at War Mouth is always phenomenal. They use local and fresh ingredients. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because my last lunch purchase of fried gizzards was off par. They were crispy and fried well but lacked seasoning. The batter was a tad bit sweet.Food: 4/5
