Pearlz Oyster - Columbia

Oh my Pearlz Oyster House is without a shadow of a doubt the place. Chef Jamal was awesome. I was one of the first to taste his creation of the seafood lasagna, totally amazing. The service was top notched as Anna literally catered by creating a drink only that one could imagine. My wife was well pleased. So for our dinner date, “I Win.” Happy Wife, Happy life. Thanks Pearlz, Chef Jamal and Anna for adding to our happiness.

It was ok. The charbroiled oysters tasted like they were baked and very small. Was very disappointed in them not having items that were listed on the menu. My server had to come back 2 times to let me know they were out of the fish I ordered. The shrimp and grits really had no taste. The chocolate and red Velvet cake was very good along with the strawberry mojito.

Tldr: come for the pretentious vibe, but don't expect to eat anything. We ordered beer, raw oysters, a fried oyster dinner, and a burger. The beers were… well, beer. You can screw up what comes out of a tap, but it take effort. And they're of short supply of that here. The raw oysters weren't cleaned. Excellent service. Food outstanding and unique. Best flash fried Brussels sprouts ever. (If you are a fan. We had the fried shrimp. Had enough for another meal at home. The broccoli slaw also was excellent. They had a seafood BLT salad and lettuce wedge with blue cheese which looked yummie. Can’t wait to go back and try something new.
