Stopped by around dinner time and they were out of nearly everything we ordered. On our way back from the beach, we were looking for a place to eat dinner. We searched Apple Maps for nearby restaurants and found Champs. When we arrived we were surprised to see that it was part of a gas station. This was fine and we parked and walked inside. A few other customers were waiting for their order. We chose what we wanted and placed the order on the kiosk. I love ordering kiosks as it is easy to view the menu and place the order. You don't pay at the kiosk, but at the cashier. After waiting a while, the employee behind the display case informed us that they were out of most of what we ordered. We had noticed the empty spaces in the display case, but expected they would be refilled. We were open to alternatives, but there wasn't enough to choose from. This was surprising as we arrived around 6 pm and they close at 7 pm. I guess go earlier if you want to eat here. We decided to pass on the food and ate at Bojangles. Luckily we hadn't paid yet. This may be a reasonable place to eat if you also need gas and/or convenience store items. I can't speak on the taste or quality of the food. The gas station is easy to locate and has ample parking.

I frequent Champs Chicken in Columbia regularly. Nestled in a gas station mini mart you might not know that there is a treasure just inside the walls. They are friendly and efficient. For a grab and go, I recommend the Denver breakfast burrito. It tastes homemade and I have been know to buy them several days in a row. My favorite for lunch is the chicken bites (not sure if that is the name). You get an obscene amount for a fair price and it is guaranteed to fill you up.Today I had 8 chicken bites and a side for 7.99 I chose mac and cheese and it was hot and fresh and very tasty. You get one dipping sauce and today I sprung for a second for a mere .69. Not all Champs Chickens are the same and but I have never been disappointed by the one in Columbia. Give it a try for a quick bite.
