Xilaton Chinese - Colombo

Xilaton is a Chinese restaurant with a unique and unexpected name. The decor is simple, with basic tables in an ordinary setting. However, the real highlight of this restaurant is the delicious food. We started with egg rolls, buttered mushrooms, and battered shrimp for appetizers, all of which were excellent. For our main courses, we enjoyed Groupa in black bean sauce, a spicy chicken dish, and bean curds in a sauce. Each dish was prepared perfectly to enhance the flavors and textures. We also tried the vegetable fried rice and vegetable noodles, both of which were delicious in their own right. For dessert, some guests chose lychee or ice cream, while I indulged in a Sri Lankan favorite - fresh fruit salad with vanilla ice cream, which was heavenly.

If you haven't been to Xilaton in 8-9 years, you haven't missed much as the restaurant still looks the same. I wish they would update the interior to make it more lively. The portion sizes are small but still enough for 3 people. I enjoyed the shredded chicken fried rice, hot butter cuttlefish, and kung pao chicken dishes. However, the sizzling pork we ordered was not very sizzling and lacked flavor. The service was friendly and fast.

Good place, food also delicious (some are Prices-bit expensive.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. We enjoyed the hot garlic sauce with medium prawns, the egg omelette with chicken and crab, and the fried rice with shredded chicken. However, we did not enjoy the chef's special recommendation of fried cuttlefish, and the service did not meet our expectations.
