Gandhi Lodge - Colombo

The price was amazing for a buffet with delicious food. a few words of intention for those who are hygienic sensitive. it did not seem that the restaurant the tassen by a dishwasher before reuse. I think they just went into a lick with water. I think the same was for the small metal shells in which they spiced. if they bring their own water and about what has been cleaned (or not) they should be in order. I wasn't aware of this and felt a little bloated. I would go back if I were in colombo.

A large number of ingenious South Indian and Sri-lank specialities. delicious and fresh. also everything available to go. more lively location. many options to choose from. some things can be ordered less sharp (no chili) others like the sambal, daal etc. is already prepared and therefore comes spicy as usual. I commanded to the example of a nice apam and they made it up to my question, which was great without chili. the cottu I ordered without chili came with chili, although they prepare it in large quantities. recommend the utapams.

My family and I take the bus to galle road to the gandhi lodge once in the week for their constantly changing selection of vegan foods. authentic foods, like the locals eat there. eating is delicious and they can not beat the price of about one usd. the it area is clean and the personal welcoming. some English speaking. we go to the buffet over the stairs, but there is also a restaurant below.

We had vadai here.The vadai was fresh and tasty The ambiance poor.This is a Tamil street food restaurant .Value for money.

I regularly visit this restaurant. It might not appear to be best of hygienic restaurant but is certainly must visit for people who look for Street food. The owner is from South India. Staff is courteous though little shy of people not speaking tamil. Idli is the best you can get.
