The service was above average and willing to work with such a large group with various tastes. I must agree the prices are above average but...quality, service, and food pairings were excellent. All 7 of us had menu's we all liked in the end. Only complaint was the loud duck wanting some scraps. I will not forget the Roquefort Vernieres.
A salad is an easy dish to surprise and delight with. You should not be trying to remove the grease from your mouth after eating one. Our experience was truly horrid. The offending salads were taken away when we mentioned how nasty they were. They...returned in possibly a worse condition. ' My bill ' I cried ' get me out of here! ' Out of over 100 restaurant meals this year, this was the worse.
6 adults in a barge trip in the Canal du Midi stopped for lunch at this fantastic restaurant on the Canal du Midi at Colombiers. There are harbour facilities on the canal for boaties that include this gem. It never ceases to amaze me that...the smallest of villages in France can produce such desirable food. The menu offers set price meals so the food prices should not be a shock to diners. The food and drink prices are a little more than the average cafe, but of course the food quality is as well. Overall the value for money equation is satisfied very well. We also found the service to be very friendly. We engaged with the waitresses and found them willing to assist and advise.
Was recommended by a local so we stopped in for dinner. Service was good, outside seating was filled so we sat inside which was just ok. Decent wine list, food was pretty good. Food presentation very good. Thought it was a little too expensive.
We have been eating here at least 6 times a year and recommending it to all our friends for many years. In March we noticed many little touches were absent, but now there seems to have been a a change in what and how they serve there food. The menu du jour had gone - or had it? Madame said we could have the "suggestion" which was nicely presented, but we were left unsure of what was on offer. The very limited "Carte" was presented on a piece of fold back cardboard which blew away and had to be chased, as did the paper sheet containing the wine list.. Following our main course we waited in vain for service and in the end gave up and left.Sadly, after many years of looking forward to our visits to l'eclusier we will now take it off our list of places to eat. Nothing wrong with the food - just no longer offering the little insights into the exceptional.
