We had varying luck with pizza in Collioure during our week-long visit, and while I loved the pizza at Al Cantou, with its thicker crust and fresher ingredients, it still didn't impress my boyfriend--but he's partial to a thin crust! In any event, the pizzas with a bottle of wine were well priced and left us with leftovers for breakfast the next morning. Other pizzas in town aren't worth mentioning...
Very friendly and helpful staff plus delicious and fresh pizza that's excellent value for the money. As with all restaurants, I recommend making an effort to speak French at least at first.
Don't expect a smile or a welcome. These pizzas reflect the people that serve you - no desire to interact positively with the customer (or the taste buds), and the fare just about acceptable, with as little topping as you can get away with. The manager even said she doesn't have time to be nice to people. If you're hungry and don't care about having a stereotypically bad French customer service experience, go for it. If not, go for a moules frites around the corner. Thoroughly disappointing experience, and worst service I've had in a long time.
Tasteless pizza served with burned crust, there is not much to add. As for the service, I had not seen such a terrible attitude towards costumers that are ordering for their pizzas.
