Long time vegan, which stopped to “vegan option” places, but had to this washing and was able to find and eat a decent meal. I even waited to see if I had any promotions (two) for eating, but I'm good.
I went yesterday with my man and the shiny to lunch after sol kitchen, as they read that sol has many vegan options. well, I am not sure about everything on the menu, but the beans burrito I ordered (which claims to have a vegan option, was in the ground the regular beans burrito minus anything that is not vegan only so that it is as flattened with a whole there were no vegan cheese or vegan sour cream offered, they simply removed in the round, which is not vegan and still charged me the same amount 16.95) without additional addition to making the meal more satisfying. as a long-term vegan, I am sick and tired of restaurants claim to have vegan options, but in the ground they simply take the dinge away from the main dish and so the eating is bland and unsatisfied while still the full amount load. this is unfair advertising and if I had known this for the case, I would definitely have ordered something else with more variety and taste. my man and shiny enjoyed her meals thoroughly, as they had a change in their meal times (they are not vegan), but I felt that I had to warn vegans who would like to eat in this restaurant to especially over any vegan version of any meal they order to there are no nasty surprises. also it was a very long wait for the meal and many people who came to us were served first. I don't want to say I won't be back soon.
So from what the website or Facebook page looks like this place has provided gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options. now their hours are somehow uncomfortable because they close at 4 every day, so it's a place I thought I would never be able to check, but one day I'm just randomly in collingwood really early, so I thought I'd dip. it opens around 9, so I have changed the main street for a bit to wait for it to open. I was there at 9:15 a.m. the front was full of delicious looking goodies, so I asked the lady what was vegan. she said she just sold out her vegan baked goods. ok, strange it was only 15 minutes. So then she asks me if I'm vegan, what I'm saying, and she asks me what I'm looking for, I said something about breakfast. So then she says okay let her check me out what I can find out. she was looking for some where she was supposed to send me to search for her to see if the press juice company was open. I was just in shock. going to these new places can be somehow overwhelming and intimidating, so I just didn't know what to say, but I couldn't believe I was sent somewhere else. I usually search everywhere, I go first and look at the menu, so I was sure I had seen something about vegan options, but I guess I was wrong?! or maybe not to breakfast? I'm still confused.
Friendly staff, very helpful, great atmosphere. Eating was delicious, even my 13yo veg daughter loved it.
We took the pesto pasta and the curry. Lots of veggies, good portions. The vegans are happy!
