Had their sunshine roll and ate 2pcs before taking a pic :) _loved their new special roll!
Service has deteriorated greatly. Twice in a row now we have to wait 20 minutes beyond the pick up time given to us. And the place isn't even hal
Great little restaurant. Delicious food. The steak is very tasty and cooked to perfection. The lobster tails were large and very flavourful. It was a quiet atmosphere with lots of delicious items on the menu to choose from. The only thing that I felt needed to improve was the garlic mash potatoes, I didn't taste much garlic, but the rest of the meal compensated for that.Great service.
The warm smile and friendly greeting from the front-of-house staffer set the tone for a delightful lunch at this less than 2 years old restaurant in Collingwood. The location in a small strip plaza is an easy walk from downtown — or a very quick drive — belies the large and well-appointed interior. Tables and booths are positioned for comfort and privacy and we asked for a table near the window so we could enjoy some of the rarely seen summer sunshine.Described in its name as a steakhouse, the menu certainly shows a much wider selection than one would expect. Appetizers ranged from soups and salads to mussels, scallops, calamari or even crab cakes while the main course selection on the lunchtime menu would, I expect, satisfy most. My two companions quickly settled on the Steak and Guinness Pie — one with a salad and the other with the house fries. As tempting as it was to do the same my eyes settled on the 8oz Haddock in traditional beer batter. The drinks order arrived quickly with a diet Pepsi for the designated driver and our attention then turned to the décor and the general atmosphere. This is a smart and attractive place that would be appropriate for a family celebration, a business lunch or as we were, friends enjoying time together. Now to the food: the Steak and Guinness pies received immediate and ongoing rave reviews. The rich, dark gravy eliciting an “oh, this is so good.” My Haddock was even better than the promise of “I think you will enjoy it.” from our server, Tracy. Tracy by the way, managed to achieve that rare balance of somehow being there when a top-up of water was needed but without the hovering sometimes seen and experienced. For those with a mobility challenge the entrance should not be a problem and once inside there is room-a-plenty between tables for a walker or wheelchair. The washrooms are located on the main floor too, which from this senior’s perspective is a real plus. Not only was our party impressed with the experience but I should note that the prices on the menu represent very good value. My 8oz Haddock with all the trimmings at $13 was excellent and many of us will have paid far more for what, in my experience, hasn’t come close to this well-cooked and presented plate.Maybe we hit the Reef and Beef on the perfect day but my impression, and from the other reviews seen, it is that this restaurateur and his team have their act together.Long may they continue to deliver good food and at fair value and with a sense that you are a truly welcome guest in their establishment.
