Trattoria Del Centro 2018 - COLLEGNO

Nearing the end of a brutal travel day my husband asked me to find a restaurant, immediately before everything closed. I tapped on google maps and this restaurant came up as, 1 close by 2 good reviews. It's 5 minutes off of the highway, in a very small town. We weren't sure that it was open but as we parked we heard the sounds of people happily dining. First, the service. They were packed but the smiling, friendly servers found us a table. While waiting for our entrees, the chef owner came out to apologize for the delay. He was charming. We hadn't noticed a delay since we had just contentedly consumed a bucket of plump mussels in a delicious red sauce. Other diners had mussels in a lighter broth with lemons. The day's special was paella. It was a major hit with many diners. Most opted to pair it with a pitcher of sangria which was full fruit and obviously home made. We ordered the lobster pasta, thinking that it would be small and light. The dish arrived with a large half lobster on a bed of homemade tagliolinni. Everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious! The chef stopped by again to see how we were enjoying our meal. We were giddy. This meal changed us from grumpy travelers to delighted diners. Before we left we met the owners wife and she was as kind and charming as her other half. If you ever have the opportunity to dine here do not hesitate. It is a rare find.

Service as well as food and atmosphere was just excellent. This restaurant is a must when visiting Torino.

Nella trattoria ho mangiato più volte sia il menu del mare che quello della terra. Mi sono sempre trovata benissimo. Le ricette sono molto buone, le porzioni sono abbondanti e deliziose. Suggerisco la zuppa di pesce e la grigliata di pesce. Buonissime!
