Canteen Grill - College Station

Perfectly fine spot to grab a drink, especially if you're staying at the George next door. Didn't try any food. Plenty of space inside for a larger group, FYI.

We visited the afternoon before the George Strait concert so we expected it to be busy, but the service we got was the worst I've had in years. We waited a long time for a table, but that was fine. Once we sat down it took twenty minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. They were busy, but had a lot of people working. The server took our order and never brought back drinks. After 35 minutes they brought out half the food and we pointed out we still didn't have drinks or silverware. She brought those but never checked on us. The other half of our group didn't get food for 35 minutes after the first batch of food. Some of this food was cold and some was hot. No refills on drinks during this time. The waitress comped the really late food, but one person's food never came. We were there at the table for almost two hours and the person without food ate food that others shared with her. I don't know where the manager was, but this was worse than any experience even during Covid when restaurants were so shorthanded. This was a first and last visit.

Can’t say enough! Stayed at the George the night of my wedding and Canteen Bar Grill for breakfast in the morning. Not only was the breakfast 10/10, service was amazing and the guy working was able to suggest some places to go eat on my honeymoon in Pagosa that we hadn’t been able to find ourselves online. Don’t leave century square without stopping by the Canteen!

Atmosphere is great, and the food is even better! The price is a high but the portions you get are excellent ? stuffed while writing this. Drinks were great. Definitely a must try wether your a local or just visiting college station!
