Barely an hour out of Rome and this stunning town appears on the horizon. Arriving with two young boys, this restaurant and bar sits next to a beautiful turquoise lake and has the wondrous attraction of a water slide to keep the kids happy. We stayed on the shore sunbathing for three days, enjoying a few bottles of ice cold Peroni and an excellent lunch of huge crusty sandwiches. We also ate in the evening. No menu, instead we embarrassed ourselves with our terrible Italian and ate whatever turned up. The food was consistently superb. It's all a bit ramshackle and thrown together. This is not fine dining. However, that's its charm. The kids loved it for the slide and lake swimming. We loved it for the food and drink. We all had a fabulous time.
A small bar by the road to the next village. Plenty of outdoor dinning space if the weather is nice and you don't mind plastic tables and chairs. Although they do put on a nice looking tablecloth. Food was not bad either although limited in variety. Or maybe it was just during lunch. Dinner might have been different.
