Marks Tey - Colchester

I had a great dining experience with well-proportioned meals that allowed me to enjoy three courses without feeling overly full. The service was a bit over the top at times, and it could be slow. However, the prices were reasonable, and the food was fresh and well-prepared.

I was shocked how bad it was eating. my kartoffelboulangere was gray and raw and burned up. my daughter burger was black and inedible on both sides. I hate complaining, so we just left it, but after I thought about it, I'll complain. it's a lot of money and I should have refused to pay after what we were serving.

I made a reservation for 7 o'clock and arrived at around 6:50, but was unable to enter the restaurant. When I mentioned my reservation, I was told to come back in a little while. The food was overpriced, lacking flavor, and had stones in it. Additionally, there was a hidden 10% service charge that felt unnecessary.

Two nights at Marks Tey hotel and throughout the food was plentiful and delicious.

Overall, I had a pleasant dining experience. However, I felt that the prawn starter was overpriced for what it offered, as it contained only a few inexpensive prawns. The rest of the food, though, was delightful. One other aspect to note is that there were times when there weren't enough staff at the bar. Instead of sending someone off to fetch a manager for an unhappy customer, perhaps it would be more efficient to use walkie-talkies or a phone to communicate.
