Gurkha Delight Curry House - Colchester

My partner and I came to this restaurant on a Friday night excited for curry, but were let down by the set menu, which we were not informed about beforehand. I did not enjoy the food, as my starter had a hair in it that I pointed out to the manager. The main dish was okay, but I was disappointed that we were restricted to a set menu and would not try the dessert again. The place was very basic and unfortunately, we would not consider returning.

We have been to Gurkha delight curry house on many occasions...eventhough this restaurant is new in town the quality of food is always to the same high standard. They offer excellent nepalese food, great atmosphere and exceptional service. Guys please don't forget to take advanrage of the special offer!! This new curry house in the town center, which is operated by the same team behind the excellent Britainnia Gurkha Restaurant, has been open for just a month but is already serving exceptional Gurkha cuisine at affordable prices. They offer a selection of starters, including traditional Nepalese Momo dumplings, priced between £2 and £3. The menu also includes a variety of meat and vegetable curries for £9. However, for that price, all curries come with rice, potato curry, dhal, chutney, and pickles. We tried the goat and chicken curries, which were both delicious, and the accompanying sides were generous. The staff even offered to refill the rice and dhal, ensuring that you won't leave hungry. The waiter mentioned that they plan to introduce more traditional Gurkha dishes in the future, giving customers even more reason to return. We ordered three pints of beer, starters, and mains, and the total bill for two people was under £35, which we felt was a steal. The service was excellent, with the staff eager to please and open to feedback as they familiarize themselves with the restaurant. Currently, the restaurant is not well known as they have not yet advertised, and their website is still a work in progress. However, based on our experience, they deserve to succeed.

The main dishes at this restaurant are both delicious and affordable, making it a great choice for a night out with friends or a romantic evening. Be sure to start with the Momo appetizer - it's absolutely delicious.
