Great food, lovely friendly staff really attentive and very helpful in adapting dishes to suit. There's always a good atmosphere very lucky to have this restaurant so close to home
We were on our last night in Coin so after looking on Tripadvisor we decided to try Giacomo's as although it had a fairly small number of reviews, they were all good. So glad we did. The location isn't the greatest as it's on a main road and is opposite a local petrol station, but once you actually sit down outside it's fine. The staff were very welcoming despite the language barrier and as it was fairly early (around 7pm), we had our choice of seating. Drinks were served promptly and our order was taken for dinner. My wife and I had bruschetta (excellent) and my stepdaughter had a very nice foccacia. For mains, I had a Fruit Di Mare risotto and my wife had the parmigiana both lovely. My stepdaughter had the margherita pizza which was perfect much better than some of the awful frozen pizza's we'd had in other restaurants on this week's holiday. Unfortunately, the Cannolo was off for desert so we finished with two helpings of a delicious tiramusu along with a glass of limoncello and amaretto given to us by the owner with his compliments. Price was very reasonable and we couldn't fault anything, we will definitely return if we are back in Coin just nice simple Italian food but done well.
We have been twice and have really enjoyed the food there, pizza’s, spaghetti fruits de mare absolutely gorgeous could eat that all day everyday, kids loved theirs too, staff lovely, couldn’t fault anything, our new favourite place.
Shocking experience, never experienced attitude like it before. Started great. Lovely waitress that first served us, attentive and polite. The disaster started after receiving one of the starters an Antipasto sharing plate. Worst cuts of meat and cheeses I’ve ever had. Dried up like they’d been left for hours, and poor quality. We didn’t mention anything at this point. Even cleared the plate by putting the meat in a napkin for the dogs and thought the mains will be better. Ordered the Spaghetti Agilo e olio, a typical garlic, chilli and Parmesan dish. Asked for prawns to be added, it came to the table swimming in a broth that tasted like sink water. They had forgot to add the the garlic, the chilli, and the Parmesan to the dish! So all that was in the bowl was plain pasta and prawns swimming in an unusual amount of disgusting tasting pasta water. The main reason for the review is the disgusting attitude of the owner he was closest when we tried to get someone’s attention, we didn’t ask to only speak to him, just needed this dish sorting. Not a single sorry or acceptance of anything. He came to the table already in a bad mood before we said anything, we mentioned the pasta he shrugged and took it. And then tried to bring it back out, saying the kitchen only forgot garlic. His attitude had already put me off even wanting to be in his restaurant by this point. They then forgot another main pasta dish, by the time we managed to get his attention to alert him. The other members of the table were near finishing their meals. And yet again the owners attitude was “WHAT” then when he realised we was missing a main meal, nothing, no apology nothing, just “what did you order”. He proceeded to stomp off in an aggressive manor. We cancelled that dish and left after the rest of the table finished there mains. Pizzas was great. The rest shocking. I’ve been before and it’s not great but it’s an ok Italian. Thought I’d try again. But after that level of service from the owner. Wow. Rudeness to a next level! Even upon bringing the bill, no apology, no nothing just rude and arrogant. Like we had offended him. Family of seven out on a Friday night. Ruined because two people didn’t eat.! And made to feel like s because of their mistakes when all we tried to do was bring it to their attention!
