Cafe Filou Bistro - Cochem

Mooi terras met heerlijke Thee en Koffie en erg lekker gebak. Mooie locatie ook, en vriendelijke medewerkers die je snel helpen.

This restaurant and café is extremely pleasant! We stopped here around 1 PM during a sunny day, after reading TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed at all! We ate outside, a typical German Flammkuche and a salad with tomatoes, cucumber, cheese and German sausage. For the cheap price, it was well worth it. Not too heavy in order to take a good cake in desert! They offer you a large range of German cakes inside. We chose the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte which was very light (usually it is too creamy and fill your stomach too much I think but not this one) and the Apfelstrudel (hot) with some vanilla ice cream and cream. Just amazing! And these two deserts only cost less that 9 euros! Don't forget to visit the inside, you would be impressed by all of the cakes! Sounds delicious! If you want some nice deserts for lunch or during the afternoon, don't hesitate to go there! Excellent quality of deserts and the people were welcoming and smiling.

The cakes here are nice enough but nothing special. The cafe is nice to sit in and the service was good. However while the cakes were reasonable enough (€3.50), the tea was very expensive at €4.50 for a small pot, by far the most expensive of our holiday. I would expect to pay this price at a historic Vienna cafe (where the presentation is usually much better) but not a standard cafe in a German town.

Een mooi ingerichte zaak die erg veel keus biedt voor een goede kop koffie en om de echte duitse taart te eten! Er is een mogelijkheid om op het balkon te zitten. Hierbij heb je vrij goed zicht over de terrassen en de Moezel.

Mooi terras, lekker eten en taarten en zeer vriendelijk personeel. We hadden een flamkuchen, die was lekker maar had voor een flamkuchen wel veel beleg.
