A&W Restaurant - Cobourg

My wife and I both work retail so we don't have many opportunities to get away. We decided to go to Cobourg beach. First stopped at the mall with hen decided to try A&W for lunch. First impression...what am I walking into? There is a large hole on the outside wall next to the door. Wondered if I would find farming inside. Floors inside are unswept, dishes (mugs) piled up by refuse bin. Received good service from the young lady and received our order quickly as ordered. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. So...after eating I used the washroom to wash my hands, surprise....several large tiles missing from the wall, insulation falling out and no plastic to cover it. The walls all need a power washing and plumbing updated. The condition of this restaurant reminds of a third world place I visited in Egypt. Suggest you use the drive thru so as not see the dump inside.

Nothing like a A & W Root Beer in a cold Glass MUG along with a Pappa, Mumma or Teen Burger. Always a great place, just like I remember going there many times over the Last 55 years. O'H that root beer, OOOOOH SO GOOOOD.

Food is good but apparently they do not turn their heat on until after 11am. If you are going for breakfast wear your snowsuit. With frost all over the ground the building was a dead cold 1 degree! Not comfortable for anyone!

Popular burgers and fries. Good value although I found the burger a little greasy and the fries were not hot. Still love the root beer.
