Harris Ranch Resort - Coalinga

It is been 3 years since I visited this resort. I still think about how lovely and refreshing it was to stay there. Beautiful landscaping, peaceful amenities. Very clean, professional, friendly!!

Harris Ranch is an Island oasis in the middle farm land. It's a great stop for travelers on Hwy 5 that want to break up their trip. My wife and I will leave the day before to stay in a nice clean room that looks over the pool, (look at pics on line) and have a great steak dinner. What I just described, is accurate for the reasons my wife and I stay at Harris Ranch. But this is not the reason why I like Harris Ranch so much. I am a business owner, I own a small restaurant and I am always looking for things that I am missing. John Harris has vision, he opens a steak house and a nicely appointed Inn in the middle of no where, farm land back in the 70's and 80's. Stockton, Livermore, South Bay, nothing little towns on the way to and from San Francisco. I have always wondered how many of his friends told him that is crazy for building a restaurant where a cows and crops should be. Who laughs last, laughs best.

Don't know anything about the inn but the Shell station has banging BBQ.

Food was just okay.. bland steak I used butter for flavoring and salt. Service was at a 5. Manager wasn’t happy to hear our reviews on the food but he did take care of us. Cooks could be better at delivering 5 star service and flavor. Everything also happens at the back of the kitchen we need 5 star service coming from the back of the kitchen other wise customers take it out on the servers and it’s not their fault. We did how ever take some really nice photos of the food presentation was nice :
