Galileo Cafe - Clonmel

We had our Christmas break up party here. Food was only OK, atmosphere left a lot to be desired. The only saving grace was that the staff were friendly and helpful.

We were a party of 4 on our Christmas night and we were going the 'whole hog ' Starters Mains Dessert. The service was very good, attentive servers, nice atmosphere. Starters were very good. Mains were a lasagne, very good, a pizza, very good, steak again very good, my was Chicken Arribiata, a huge disappointment. The sauce was more like soup and the chicken pieces were tiny and honestly I felt were more like pre cooked but definitely not what I expected. I brought this feedback to the server and she said she 'd pass it on. I heard nothing more about it. Our desserts were good and coffee was good. It was a busy night but I don 't think that should have affected my main course. We obviously tipped and left. Would it stop me going back, no but I don 't think it will be Arribiata again.

We were visiting clonmel today and just came across here and decided to stop in for lunch. We were in Rome recently and queued for 90 mins for a famous restaurant, I knew while I was eating dinner that I would never return as the food was bland and nothing special at all, but we 're already planning a return visit to Galileo 's. The food was incredible, the staff and service were great and I can 't recommend it highly enough.

We visited the restaurant for the first time since they relocated and were impressed by the charming layout. Although it was crowded, we were able to find a table. While the menu was a bit pricey, we understand the struggles businesses are going through. The food was tasty and our server was very friendly.

I highly recommend this restaurant for its excellent food and service.
