Christie's Artisan Bread Pastry Shop

I occasionally find myself craving the wedding cake from Christie’s. After our tasting, they were incredibly helpful in refining our selection. On our special day in July, we received nothing but compliments on the light and fluffy lemon cake filled with raspberry mousse and vanilla custard. My husband and I have even discussed ordering the same combination for our next special occasion! The cake was stunning and a huge hit, although it did appear slightly lopsided in nearly every photo, including the professional ones. We didn’t notice it during the event, which makes me wonder if there was a minor issue with the construction. Perhaps this was an isolated incident. Otherwise, the naked icing was beautifully done, and the flavor and texture were divine. Conveniently, Christie’s collaborates with Greens Beans florist next door, making it easy for us to have flowers on each tier. We had nothing but positive experiences with Cat and the entire staff, and we can't wait to sample some of their other delicious offerings.

I had an all-around fantastic experience! The New England Clam Chowder was absolutely delicious, featuring a perfect texture and plenty of large clams. The Roast Beef Panini was incredible, combining hot, rare roast beef with melted sharp cheddar, caramelized onions, crunchy toasted sourdough, and a hint of horseradish. I finished off my meal with a delightful cup of hot coffee and a chocolate chunk cookie that’s the best I've had locally in quite some time. I also took home a few cupcakes, a lemon bar, and a peanut butter square for my family to enjoy. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was clean, casual, and relaxed.

Unfortunately, I was busy preparing for a trip and missed their call. When my mom went to pick up the cake a week later, she found it completely white and blank! Who would want a blank cake? I had specifically requested a Minecraft theme and suggested they add a Minecraft pig. Instead, my mom was presented with a plain white cake. She insisted this couldn't be what I ordered. After a long wait, they finally slopped a quick Minecraft pig onto the cake and charged my mom for it. The owner's handling of the situation was quite poor. I had sent an email detailing my request and even showed her my sent items to confirm it. I'm not sure if she had a strict spam filter, but surely no one would think a plain white cake is appropriate for a child's birthday party. At the very least, they could have made the cake a bit festive or incorporated Minecraft designs. The owner should have ensured that I spoke with the baker/designer rather than assuming she could manage this complex request on her own. After the incident, I called to confirm the email address and sent test emails, yet for some reason, they still didn't receive them. There was no offer of a refund or even a discount on a future order. Although this was just one bad experience, it was a significant one. No one apologized, and they charged my mom for the small fondant pig they hastily added. My mom was stressed and running late, my youngest son started acting out while she waited, and my son, whose birthday it was, was left disappointed. If you do choose to go to Christie's, keep in mind that although their cakes are good and they can create nice designs, make sure you speak directly with the cake designer. Otherwise, you may be taking a big risk. Also, I have experienced other issues in the past.

Went there on 6/22/22 to inquire about ordering some treats for my guests for Saturday, 6/25/22. Had high hopes for this place but woman at the counter was just angry. She was straight nasty. Asked about possibly having something prepared for Saturday, she raises her arms and rudely tells me ?yeah it?s too late for that.? I get it, too late, but be pleasant about it. Then I asked about their allergies and she shrugs and goes ?I don?t know what you?re talking about.? Super rude. I walked in there feeling good but then immediately treated like garbage. Definitely never walking in that place again. I live in town and will rather drive 10 mins to Flemington or Lebanon. Also, they?re over priced.

Ordered a cake for my parent's 50th Anniversary from Christie's. Staff was great at helping me place my order. The cake came out beautifully and tasted excellent! Thank you!
