Adorable little French cafe cuisine. On a weekend morning, I was in the mood to have coffee and breakfast while reading a book. There outdoor seating was perfect for it. One note is that the lunch/brunch menu doesn?t start until about midday. However I killed time and enjoyed a butter croissant and coffee. I then had the croquet madam with the side salad. Everything was lovely and yummy. The staff does a nice job and are very kind. They also made some great suggestions. My one nugget to why I didn?t give it the fully 5 stars is because a big gust of wind cause their umbrella fall on me, bruising my arm. It happened so fast and was scary. Two other guests helped me but the staff were inside and unaware. The umbrella could have also seriously hurt someone or fallen on the nice car behind it. I did go inside and mentioned it to the staff and encouraged them to put something on the base to weigh it down to prevent from happening again. I really hope they did.
It truly doesn’t get any better than this. I absolutely love everything about Môtier. The service is kind and attentive, and the French pastries and cuisine are outstanding. I’m slowly making my way through the entire menu, and each dish has exceeded the last!
Today was our first visit to Môtier, and I can’t express enough how wonderful it was. The bistro has a romantic and charming atmosphere, with seating available both indoors and outdoors. The chocolate croissants are perfectly flaky and genuinely French, just like the quiche, salad, onion soup, and ratatouille. In fact, it was the best ratatouille I’ve ever had. And be sure to order a lemon tart to cleanse your palate and complete your meal.
I'm giving this place two stars because I didn't even get to try the food. It was noon on a busy November day, and the only seating available was outdoors. Meanwhile, the chef was unloading a van packed with supplies like salad and napkins. To make matters worse, they informed me that they would not be serving the Croque Madame, which was my original choice. At first, they said it would take a little longer, then suddenly switched to saying that it was simply unavailable. It felt just like being in Paris, where customer service seems to take a backseat to everything else.
