Afterward, our waiter seemed knowledgeable about the menu, which suggested he was experienced. However, he initially came across as a bit odd, which dampened our spirits. We hesitated to ask questions or order additional items, not wanting to be a hassle. This was quite a contrast to the warm service we received just 15 minutes earlier. When we mentioned that we had traveled all the way from New York to celebrate my birthday, his response was vague, saying he would see what he could do. I had completely forgotten about the birthday celebration until I noticed the staff preparing to sing for me when the time came. This lifted my mood, as did the server, who seemed more engaged at that point. Although I doubt we will return, I'm willing to believe he was just having a rough day, likely due to the busy atmosphere. On a positive note, the food was served hot and fresh, and the rest of the staff was friendly.

The service at the front was highly unsatisfactory and quite unsettling. When I arrived, the staff looked at me but then continued their conversation amongst themselves. After I greeted them and indicated how many were in my party, they asked for my phone number and promptly returned to their chat. The atmosphere felt awkward and uncomfortable. I would have appreciated a more welcoming approach, such as a confirmation or a notification about when a table might be available.

The staff at the bar seemed more preoccupied with the games than with their customers, often sneaking around the big screen at the end of the bar. Meanwhile, several other screens in the restaurant were showing different games, but they left some of them empty instead of switching the displays. Aside from that, it’s a great place with good food and service. Food rating: 4/5.

After receiving our delivery, I contacted the manager to let her know that I was not asking for a refund or a discount, I just wanted to let her know that our meals were inedible because of the excessive amount of salt. All she could say was We don 't add any seasoning . I 'm not sure where the salt came from then, but in addition to the fact that the food was awful, the manager 's way of handling my constructive criticism in hopes of Applebee 's improving their service, was absolutely apalling. We will never order from Applebee 's in Clifton again. I only hope one day they do a better job in selecting their managers.
