I ordered the mint tea and a chicken kabob, both of which I would highly recommend! The tea was exceptionally flavorful, tasting as though it were made from real mint leaves rather than artificial flavoring. The kabob was delectable and came with a side of vegetables, couscous, and a salad. I'm unsure of the dressing used on the salad, but I need to find out because it was fantastic! I will definitely be returning.
They are very nice here but did not have wine or beer which would have been nice as it was our date night. The food was super rich but this was my first time having Moroccan. Not for me. The staff was very courteous and helped us select some things. Theambience needs to be warmed up. I always envision Moroccan culture as warm and colorful. The strip mall environment was chillyin temperature and the windows would look so good if they just added some draped curtains. Red would be amazing. Also add somevotives as the pictures make it look like a place to sink into. The more traditional seating area is near but quite small. Foodwas well done, it?s just not my thing.
My girlfriend and I don’t dine out often, but when we do, we prefer trying ethnic cuisine. After reading about Marrakesh in the Daily Gazette, we decided to give it a shot. When we visited, the restaurant was not busy, allowing us to choose our seating (and they do offer traditional floor seating with cushions). It’s clear that a lot of thought and care has gone into both the restaurant’s layout and its menu. Although it’s located in a strip mall, significant effort has been made to bring a taste of Morocco to the Capital Region. After our visit, I learned from a coworker that her husband started the restaurant. Being from Morocco, they truly understand and love the food and culture. The service was attentive, and our meals arrived promptly. The food was traditional and expertly prepared; both of our main courses were outstanding. The dessert, paired with traditional Moroccan coffee, was a lovely way to end an excellent evening. It’s certainly not the typical dining experience you’d find in Clifton Park, but it’s absolutely worth it if you’re seeking well-prepared Moroccan cuisine.
The food and décor are absolutely charming. The head chef, who may also be the owner, was very attentive and took some time to chat with us about the recipes and the restaurant's history, which was really enjoyable. They offer a great variety of delicious vegan options alongside meat dishes. While the dessert selection is limited at the moment, we were told the menu will be expanding soon. Overall, we had a wonderful evening, and even my 9-year-old loved it!
The service was excellent. He walked us through the menu, gave us his suggestions, and answered our questions. He seemed genuinely excited to share the cuisine and the experience with us. The food was unique and delicious. We will definitely bereturning.
