There are great staff like Vincent, Theo and many more that automatically put you at ease after a hard day. The different stained glass windows, art around the restaurant makes it feel like you are at a really nice place, but not one putting on airs that is trying too hard. It makes it easy to relax in your chair, talk to the very welcoming staff and enjoy a very good meal. I don't care what you order, chances are you are going to like it! If not, don't be quite about it, let the staff know as they want you to go home happy! As someone who has built and manages a business I appreciate how the staff runs like clockwork. Very well done. What also makes it a great place is the people that go there! I have had delightful conversations with people and made new friends. I sat at the bar and something pricy fell out of my pocket and I would have probably missed it. A gentleman eating with his wife saw it, not a near table and took the time to make sure I had it. It is a quieter more relaxed atmosphere. So if going out on a date or with friends and actually enjoy being able to hear them, this is a great place! There is also a great room for bigger groups and a great patio area that is covered where you can enjoy the outside temperatures but not have to worry about the weather getting to you. Some complained about changes in parking, but I have people park on side streets across from it if they can't park right there and have found it easy and fast to get to! I would have you tell them Ben with the hats sent you, lol, but only Vincent would get what you are talking about. Check it out!
We were excited to return to Nighttown after a long absence and the service and staff were generally wonderful at brunch yesterday (Sunday). The food however was really disappointing. Both my husbands and my meal tasted lifeless, with heavy, overwrought preparation with muddled flavors. The potatoes were too heavily salted. The arugula side salad was lovely bright spot, but very skimpy. We both were unhappy with our meal. The dissatisfaction started by the server mixing up the plate delivery. We each began eating a bit confused by what was in front of us not exactly matching what we thought we ordered.... and the meal continued downhill from there. I'm sorry to report that this was the most disappointing meal we've ever had from a longstanding favorite restaurant.
My parents got engaged at this restaurant, and recently came back to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary! The manager worked with me to make it really special for them he decorated their table with beautiful flowers and even printed out a picture from their wedding and put it in a frame on the table. The band played a song from their wedding! It was an amazing night and I am so grateful for the help of the manager (Nick) for making it a memorable anniversary for my parents!
Not the service I expected at this establishment. I felt our waiter was full of himself, did not prepare my cocktail as requested, did not bring our guest her wine promptly (was not crowded) did not completely bus the table. Food is not at the level they claim. Music duo was excellent.
This is not the Nighttown I remember. More like Nightmare. If there was a restaurant who cared less about the food and the menu, can't remember it. Kitchen does not have their act together. Dinner took forever and was cold. The menu is very limited and unimaginative. The salads were put together with no care or thought. A ton of iceberg thrown into a bowl for $15. Server was nice and tried but could not get anything right from the kitchen. Bring a sandwich if you go there so you can eat. Pathetic and sad for a what once was a Cleveland Hts. Institution
