Most unique Chinese food experience I’ve ever had. The spicy pig ears were a spicy crunchy and numbing appetizer. The udon noodles were sweet and salty with a great smokey wok flavor. The spicy pig intestine soup is a rare treat! Looking forward to trying some other menu items when I return.Food: 5/5
Very small but unique menu. I stopped for lunch and got the wonton Soup dumpling and the Curry Beef soup. Both items were very good. No compliants! I'll be back to try more.Food: 5/5
3.5 stars rounded down. Maybe this is the best that Cleveland has to offer in the way of Shanghainese food? Speaking as someone who lived in Shanghai for 4yrs not too long ago, there is a valiant effort but it misses the mark. The soup dumplings $8) had the right techniques relatively thin skin, soup, not fatty) but forgets the key ingredient, ginger. Also, no accompanying black vinegar with ginger slivers. The skimpy fried smoked fish $11) was done right but the soy sauce based sauce was nondescript and the smokiest non-detectable. I’ve had similar dish with shaoxing wine. The generous portion ribs ends $11) was tender but should have been way sweeter and sour. The pork belly soup $12) was ok my dining partner wanted this) as I’m not a fan of this simple noodle soup dish. Pork belly was tender. Everything should have been more amped up in taste. The prices were on average, reasonable.
Shrimp tastes good. Chicken is not my favorite one around. If I go there again, I ll eat duck and noodles which are my favorites.
