The place is very clean and we were there late, so I saw their clean up routine, they repacked everything into new containers and wiped down their fridges along with the entire food prepping surfaces. I was impressed how meticulously everything was handled. Now it wasn’t cheap but it was worth it. I am a regular at this great sushi restaurant when I am in Cleveland. It is very high quality and also a bit unique verses normal sushi restaurants. In the pictures you will see a sashimi tasting menu which is awesome and a go to. One cool thing they do is fry your shrimp head after your eat the meat. They serve it with green tea salt. If you may be apprehensive, don't be! The head is crunchy and flavorful. Be a little adventurous here to be paid back greatly. You will want more! Also you will see pictures their spicy tuna hand roll. Very nice with great flavor and texture. Finally a mixture of some of my favorites. You pick yours. You cannot go wrong. The space is a bit small which is part of the experience so make a reservation. If you like sushi, just go, I promise you will be very happy!! After reading a few reviews: indeed the parking can be a bit challenging so just be patient. Is is downstairs in a basement so others are right dress comfortable and enjoy the food. Ginko is not fancy. Others have said it is expensive which it is. What they have not offered is a better value alternative. That matters to me personally. Now there was a great place around the corner that at one time probably offered a lower cost but it closed. So again I love this place but do agree you will have to pay for it.
This place is awesome! Great atmosphere, awesome sushi. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50
After reading a review of Ginko and the mention of directly importing fish from overseas we were anticipating an above average meal: however, I wouldn’t say we were disappointed but at the same time, not overly enthused and ultimately learned thatproducts are sourced at local wholesale providers conflicting prior information that indicated they personally had productsdirectly delivered via air. The sushi was just average at best, the environment was stuffy with very little air flow due to theunderground location and it was very hot, needed AC or outside air exchange of some sort. On the service end, I’ll give it a6.5, somewhat slow and not paying attention to beverage refills, we had to ask someone other than our server, Nick, forrefills. Drinks/wine expensive with average pricing on popular rolls, some selections on the menu at a extremely high pricepoint. We are pleased that we at least made the visit, however, we will not be returning. Some of the best sushi we’veexperience is at Pacific East in Cleveland Heights.
The place: Itty bitty, lots of character. There's a horseshoe bar around the sushi chefs, a couple two-person high tops, and a couple booths. It's small...
